SECTION 1.0 SHORT TITLE:
1.1 This Local Law shall hereafter be known and cited as the
Parking Prohibition Law of the Town of Candor.
SECTION 2.0 PURPOSE:
2.1 It is the purpose of this local law to ensure that no vehicles
will be parked along the side of Town streets and highways. This would inhibit
the orderly removal of snow from the driving lanes of the Town streets and
highways.
SECTION 3.0 EFFECTIVE:
3.1 The parking of motor vehicles is hereby prohibited on all Town
streets and highways between the hours of 12:00 A.M. and 8:00 A.M. from
November 15th of each year to and including March 15th of the following year.
SECTION 4.0 PENALTIES AND ENFORCEMENT:
4.1 Penalties

Any person who violates
any provision of this law shall be deemed in violation and, upon conviction
thereof, shall be subject to penalties in a fine. Each day such violation shall
continue or be permitted to exist shall constitute a separate violation. See
Fee Schedule, Penalties for Offenses, Class C, for current maximum daily fines.
4.2
Enforcement
1.
Any vehicle parked or abandoned on any street or highway within
the Town in violation of this Local law or during a snowstorm which is found
unattended in such a location that it constitutes an obstruction to traffic,
may be removed by order and under the direction of the Superintendent of
Highways or any other officer or agent of the Town of Candor.
SECTION 5.0 TOWING AND STORAGE:
5.1 All towing expenses and storage charges as provided in Section
4.0 above, will be paid at the expense of the owner of the vehicle. Date of
removal and the date of release or delivery of such vehicle shall each be
regarded as a separate day in computing storage costs.
SECTION 6.0 SERVABILITY:
6.1 It shall be the duty of the Town or its designated officer,
employee or agent to ascertain the name of the vehicle owner or person having
lawful possession of such vehicle, and to notify such person of the removal and
disposition of the vehicle.
SECTION 7.0 EFFECTIVE DATES:
7.1 This Local Law shall become effective upon the filing of a
certified copy of this law with the Secretary of State.
